Today, I decided to write about one of my favorite songs, and one of my favorite quotes in this song: Ours by Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift is one of my favorite artists, and i really enjoy most of her songs.
So don’t you worry your pretty little mind, people throw rocks at things that shine. And life makes love look hard. The stakes are high, the water’s rough, but this love is ours.
People throw rocks at things that shine.
Honestly, that is one of the truest sentences I have ever read.
People throw rocks. I am in high school, so I see this everyday. Now… not literally rocks, but people can be so mean. I don’t really know why, but I have my theories.
- They are insecure.
- They make themselves feel better by putting you down. (leads back to insecurity)
- They are jealous.
People throw rocks. I see bullying and more all the time. I have friends who go through such pain everyday. Not just high schoolers get hit with rocks, or throw rocks though, adults do too. There will always be people who are mean. There were always be people who bully. There will always be people who judge. There will always be people who throw rocks. Don’t let those people get to you.
People throw rocks. All over the news and the media and the schools and everything I see these days, is people throwing rocks. People discourage others to be funny. People discourage others to be popular. Everyone has people who are mean to them. Whether you’re Nicki Minaj and you have ‘haters’ or you’re a 15 year old freshman or a middle age mom or a young adult. People will be mean. The only way to not let the rocks being thrown at you cause you any pain – is to ignore them.
Things that shine. Here is a list of some of the things that I would consider, “shining”.
- you.
Things That Shine. I don’t care if you’re black, white, gay, straight, fat, skinny, tall, or short – You shine. You are beautiful.
People throw rocks at things that shine. You can’t control what other people do. You just can’t. So if someone ever puts you down, just remember this quote. You shine. People will always make up reasons to put you down. But if they do, just know – you shine. People throw rocks at things that shine.
