Another one from Curly Girl Design that I absolutely loved. Happy Monday!
Happy Birthday Kerry!
Wishing the happiest of birthdays to my sister and best friend Kerry! She is someone who radiates peace and calmness, despite the loud and chaotic atmosphere my family typically lives in. Even though she is two and a half years younger than me, she is mature beyond her years and someone I look up to. There are only a few memories from my childhood that don’t involve Kerry and our ‘adult’ relationship now is something I cherish.
Her actual birthday was on Friday but began the celebrations early at The Lumineers concert Thursday night. Friday we spent the day out of town shopping and exploring Frankenmuth, Michigan. I’m thankful I have a few days left at home to spent with Kerry and the rest of my family – I’ll be soaking them up until Monday morning!
Enjoy your weekend! xo
peony season
it’s my favorite time of year…peony season! peonies just seem to make every atmosphere or situation a little sweeter. i also love rereading mary oliver’s “peonies” – here’s an excerpt from the poem:
all that dampness and recklessness
gladly and lightly,
and there it is again–
beauty the brave, the exemplary,
blazing open.
Do you love this world?
Do you cherish your humble and silky life?
Do you adore the green grass, with its terror beneath?
Do you also hurry, half-dressed and barefoot, into the garden,
and softly,
and exclaiming of their dearness,
fill your arms with the white and pink flowers,
with their honeyed heaviness, their lush trembling,
their eagerness
to be wild and perfect for a moment, before they are
nothing, forever?
enjoy your thursday! xo
