From celebrities sporting the nautical look and Dolce and Gabbana’s Spring 2009 line to fun conversation jewelry pieces, magazine spreads and cover pages.
I never shy away from wearing red, but the bright color contrasted against bold stripes of white and/or navy blue makes me even more excited to mix the nautical theme into my wardrobe. The look also encompasses whimsical details (via sailboat and anchor shapes) within gold jewelry layered on top of lightweight fabrics like linen and cotton. Dressing with the sea in mind make me want to vacation on the East Coast (Helllllo Annapolis-one of my fave cities-and The Hamptons) but for now, this land-locked queen will be searching Forever 21 for the perfect nautical-inspired pieces to brighten up summer break!
